Today, March 8th all around the world every woman and human being should be celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD)! Do you know why IWD is celebrated on March 8 every year? It is a movement for women's rights. After the Socialist Party of America organized a Women's Day on February 28, 1909, in New York, the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference suggested a Women's Day be held annually on March 8th! This day is to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. Today is a global day that celebrates women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. #TBT Post in 2019 I was in Cambodia and Vietnam, where I was traveling for a month, and they were also celebrating IWD today. It’s exciting to see other countries getting involved and being part of such a movement and a special day. What are you doing today to celebrate International Women’s Day? Every year there is a theme for IWD. 2019 was #BalanceforBetter. Balance drives a better working world and a more inspirational world all around. We are celebrating women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements, but focusing on teaching and understanding what gender balance is?
