honestly i never understood why my brain works that way with books. reading has a great effect on my anxiety, like it’s just the perfect distraction for my brain to focus on. i think it helps because i have a really active and overactive imagination
i love reading outdoors, especially in a really quiet, almost empty park. it’s so peaceful, and it’s nice being out and away from a computer/phone screen.
but at the same time, a squirrel could just be sitting on a tree branch over my head and that’s it, my attention is gone xD i really can’t help it. it's relaxing anyways.
