🕑 Added 2023-04-07 09:26:01 +0000 UTC Bedtime story: On one trip to Sydney I was drinking at the gay bars with the couple I was staying with (a fantastic couple too) when a huge muscle guy came up next to me and started chatting. He was very confident and eventually he suggested we go back to his later with his bf, a cute twink. I said I couldn’t as I had plans with the boys I was staying with, so he gave me his number, kept chatting for a while (he was charming and smart) and eventually sent me back to my boys - who both stared at me with their jaws on the floor. Apparently he was a huge rugby star and recently came out. I told them what happened and they couldn’t believe I’d (nominally) turned him down. They were almost angry about it! It was funny to watch their reactions. They told me everyone in Sydney wants to shag him but I said I’d prefer to hang out with them tonight. They thought I was mad, but they appreciated it. And wouldn’t shut up about it all night lol. Next day I caught up with another mate who was with some mutual friends. For some reason I had to leave them momentarily and walk along the “high street” (they’re not called that in Australia), probably looking for an ATM and one of the mutual friends came with me. During our brief walk he asked what I’d been up to and I told him about the rugby guy. He flatly didn’t believe me and made it clear that if it was true, I was an idiot. I tried to explain but he just thought it ridiculous. Exactly at that moment, a car horn blew in front of us and a car pulled over. The driver called out my name as we walked up alongside. It was the rugby player and his boyfriend. My mate very obviously took a massive step backward and suddenly couldn’t speak. And that’s rare, bless him! The guys in the car chatted for a while and he gave me his card this time, inviting me over again. My mate heard it all but stood right back, frozen to the spot with mouth wide open. He was so funny! Then they drove off and my mate took about 20 seconds before he dared move. He slowly said “that really was him, wasn’t it?” And then he apologised. I was trying not to laugh at him cos his reaction was every bit as hilarious as in some B-grade comedy. But I never did get to shag the rugby boy cos I was leaning the next day. Such a shame, really.
