A little while ago, something happened that made me feel super confused and sad.
I tried to help a friend who was in a tough spot. I got everything ready, even made a cozy room and bought plane tickets, but when I arrived, she wasn’t ready emotionally. She stopped talking to me, and it really hurt. I’ve been feeling like maybe something is wrong with me… like, why do my friendships always end badly? How come my friend didn’t want to be safe with me?
I’ve been talking to my therapist about ways to cope with feelings from my past, and she suggested I find small distractions during the day. So, I sat down with the toys I got for her little one and started playing. It felt so silly at first, but before I knew it, I was making little car noises and building things. Even though it’s sad my friend didn’t show up, at least I have new toys to play with now. And who knows? I can always try to make new friends and be there for her if she ever reaches out again🥺
