🕑 Added 2022-04-22 16:13:24 +0000 UTC We’ve been through a collective exercise in patience and un-attachment. Whatever expectations were held for the last few years were constantly refocused and repositioned based on the forever moving benchmark of “when will things be ‘normal’ again.” We all arrived at the realization there is no “returning to normal” at different times. Some of us are still landing in that truth. Personally I spent most of 2020 running from it. Then I spent most of 2021 feeling bad about it. Finally I got sick of my own whining and in 2022 decided to do something about it. In the midst of my sh|t I received some great advice - “just allow yourself to be lost.” What’s wrong with not knowing where things are going? What feels better - to lie to yourself and say “I’ve got this under control”… or to admit and embrace the truth of “I don’t know what will happen next?” In my body, it always feels better to submit to the truth and to find a way to allow those sensations to flow through me, rather than to hold myself in rigid resistance to an inevitable. I have a lot of experience in consensually undoing my reality with mind bending substances and experiences (because I like that sort of thing). So when the world decided to take us all on a trip, that’s how I decided to approach it. We took our dose in 2020 and spent that entire year rocketing through the come up. In 2021 we finally popped through to the other side and got a chance to look around. Personally I found pretty terrifying and dark and spent most if it with my head under the covers. And now here we are in 2022. On the other side of the brunt of the change and beginning to integrate. Each interpretation will be individual. All our takeaways will be unique to the experience we had. United by some of the few universal truths that remain: right now we all need a nap, a snack and a hug.
