Underneath the azure moon, the thirty-two-year-old man known as Vincent had pondered on current events surrounding the mansion basking in an array of ardor and the scent of clean linen. He had strayed far from his prior dealings as an armed security guard for venues such as these, though he could find himself studying the micromovements of the hired hands and how a felon may just slip by; sneaking away while their attention was astray. A part of him recognized that they; the courtesans, bards, and bartenders hired by the estate were paid diligently to bring newcomers to the grounds, as well as keep the captive audience enthralled with their art. ”One had to be chosen”, he thought restlessly to himself.
He knew that he was being irrational and that any one of the hired forms of entertainment would do wonders for him now that he was a guest and not an employee - But he hesitated, and continued to hesitate during each visit, the most recent being his fifth entry. His amber eyes deliberately scanned the room of each individual that flaunted their assets; selfishly engraving lustful thoughts of bondage, domination, and hematolagnia, all while his nails traced the rugged surface of his leather wallet and his posture posed a stillness that would cause even the most dexterous of guards to stumble.
Yet, the silence of the couch next to the entryway was the only solace he could find - There, none seemed to bother him, nor any problems that sought immediate ratification seemed to exist. As if akin to savages in the wilderness, the man stalked his prey at a distance; licking his teeth in a lascivious manner underneath his closed mouth and gripping his left hand into a fist whilst his right concentrated on scraping the surface of his notecase. He envisioned giving in to his primal urges and instincts; that wherein social norms and niceties are discarded for a very unfiltered self, one where the civilized shell gives way to emotions and sexual desire - A scenario where he would be able to hunt his prey, to bind them and hear their constant whimpers and pants of lecherous affirmation, to dig into their flesh with his own nails and sink his dentition into their flesh was too captivating of thought to keep to himself, occasionally breaking his perverted trance by wincing and exposing his shortness of breath before composing himself once again.
Isolation did not beget loneliness, however - In the case of distancing himself away from what he desired, he had found an eloquent serenity away from others. The serene nature had gone as far as to apparently distort his sense of direction, as he found himself questioning where he had gone when he found himself in front of the bar more than a few times, typically ordering a different item than what he remembered ordering last, all in an awkward fashion. ”H-hey again… Disaronno, on the rocks, please.”
“Have I wandered too far, and gave the bartender reason to remove me…?”, he had thought to himself whilst sipping idly at the cold beverage, tightening the grip of his middle and index finger on the plastic card that seemed to control the comings and goings of patrons filling the overflowing pockets of those he used to work for, to disperse any expression that might have come across his face. With a soft exhalation, he paid for his tab with a simpering look, pleasantly tilting his head to the right once the bartender accepted his tender. “I appreciate it very much. I’ll see you next time”, he spoke with his unusually gentle voice, hoping to reassure any negative correlations between him and his behavior, if there were any, to begin with. From the gesture, he continued onward beyond the exit. Outside of the rut he had willedhimself into, knowing well he would do the same upon his next visit. Outside of his perverse mind, and back into a realm out of his control. Outside of his complacency.
