🕑 Added 2023-01-26 19:13:13 +0000 UTC mother night by kurt vonnegut can you tell i’m going through a phase ? lol this is in my top three of vonnegut for sure. it’s definitely the one i reference the most. it sucks that it is so topical but it is extremity relevant. the main character is on trial for making pro-nazi propaganda in WWII. his defense is that he was ordered by the american goverment to do so while they hid secret messages in his propaganda to communicate with each other in code. The moral of the story is that we are who we pretend to be so be careful who you pretend to be. even though the mc didn’t truly believe the anti-semiticism he was spreading he was still fueling people who did believe terrible things. 10/10
