That is why I'm so sad when a big tree, that stood tall and strong, for many years, falls down. But I do realize that all things must come to and end. Even the strongest trees fall down eventually. I call them my "Fallen Heroes". And even in death a "Fallen Hero" can make for a nice seat! I love following poem. It is lovely. 🪵 The Fallen Tree 🪵 - Alfred Castner King Uprooted and disheveled, there The monarch of the forest lay; As if in desolate despair Its last resistance fell away, And overwhelmed, in evil hour Went down before the tempest's power. Such are the final works of fate; The birds to other branches flew; And man, whatever his estate, Must face that same mutation, too! To-day, I stand erect and tall, The morrow--may record my fall.
