What happens to YOUR money when you contribute? I am sure it is an interesting thought or question that has been around to a few people. I will explain what happens on OUR end as creators.
FIRST there is the platform fee. 20% of ANYTHING purchased, tipped or otherwise related to the platform/site goes to the host site.
From there 80% goes into my account. From there at least
10% goes to basic upkeep costs. Nice cameras, fuel for content trips, internet, etc..
15.3% goes to Uncle Sam.
That leaves me with 54% of anything you tip.
This was not the stats for the last tax season. I wasn't aware of quarterlies and such. I am learning as I go! (I owe in a small substantial amount)
If you prefer NOT having your contribution go through the cycle, check out https://ohh.me/kalihackberry for my wish list!
You fellow contractors, Hats off to you for going through the same type of grinder. Please feel free to complain as much as you like about the grinder.
